Up until my hysterectomy (1 ovary left) I was able to manage my IBS for 2 years. After I developed a yet to be diagnosed bladder/pelvic issue that my doctors are treating as IC. I would like to not constantly take meds so I have tried an elimination diet. Problem is I am not getting enough protein. I cant have soy, tofu, peanuts, red meat is hard for me to digest, pork as well...Basically everything except eggs, and fish. That is not going to work for me. I am starting back on my weights, and my swimming as well as my elliptical and yoga. I am losing weight and I need to be gaining it. Prior to all this I depended heavily on soy and whey protein. Abt 30-40G total mostly consumed right after my workout. So now what can I do? Is Whey still an option? I was thinking of getting C, Bcomplex, and B12 injections as well since I also cannot eat fruit (except one type of apple and pears). I see the list on the ICN site of what I cant have.. but not allot of what to replace it with, paired with the restrictions for IBS. I am finding myself easily falling back into a disintrest in eating at all... not good I dont want to be there again... I know I should go to a dietitian but I am have on avg 4-6 dr an therapy apts a week, I cant fit anything else in and cant afford it either.

Thank you Rosa :) I am so glad to have something new to try. Yay! I get my first instillation of Heparin and Kenalog on Monday after my electrostim - biofeedback therapy I am hopeful it will bring down my pain level as well which is of course conducive to me being active and having an appetite. Oh multivitamins how I miss them... I am not supposed to take those anymore. But my PharmD who does my compounds gave me a listing of vitamins he has in Slow Release like a vitamin C (I forgot the name) that is PH neutral. and he said skips the liver. also a B sub-lingual tab that has the full complex and goes in to the system directly as well. I guess I didn't pay much attention to the fact that he compounded his own line of vitamins and supplements. Kinda cool. So now I feel like I have allot more to work with. Thank You Again!!!!!

Hi catastrophi101,

Thank your for your post and welcome to EmpowHer! Grains and Legumes are also two good sources of protein. A supplement of B12 is a great idea and should be included in your diet along with a multivitamin.

I found a great site that I think you will find helpful: http://icadvice.com/node/174

Also, here are some protein bar recipes that contain no dairy, no soy, no sugar, or flour-- http://www.sparkpeople.com/ma/Recipe-Protein-Bars-(No-Sugar,NoFlour,Low-Glycemic/62/1/17279953

Hope this helps,

Rosa
