Q:

I recently developed vaginal sores caused by using Oxyclean along with my other laundry detergent for my intimate garments.

how do I clear up this painful problem? I have sores inside my vagina and the lip of my vagina. I tried ointments. I use baby and adult wipes but they sting badly and every time I urinate my vagina burns. Of course I use a much milder detergent now for my intimate apparel. I had not used that product before and I did not realize how powerful and strong it is.

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing!

You need to have these sores looked at to make sure they are from the detergent, especially if they are not healing. A rash or itch may be caused by this detergent but open sores inside the vagina need to be checked out. In general, a very small amount of detergent is all that is needed when cleaning underwear.

Thank you. I keep rubbing them with bathroom tissue and I know that is bad. I was not sure if I should use an ointment. It is very difficult to just ignore them. I feel foolish about the laundry, I must not have been thinking that day, because I have not done that before. Also, the extraordinary stress I've been under MAY be a factor. But thank you for your speedy reply.
