me and my boyfriend of 4 years have been having "safe" sex for the most part. i got off my period ended. 5 days later i missed 2 pills in week 1 and took all three on the next day that i was supposed to. i had cramping and started spotting the day i took all three pills and my boobs were extremely sore. in those 2 days that i did not take the pills we had unprotected sex, one time injaculating inside me. is it possible for me to become pregnant? i have been on birth control for 6+ years and got pregnant back in 2003. i am now 21. i am still taking my birth control. if i am infact pregnant when can i test to know if i am so i can stop taking my birht contol?

i am on Ortho Tri-Cyclen what can i do to find out if i am too early. if i am i do not want to harm the baby because of the birth control. can anyone help me please!!!!! it has been 3 days since i took all 3. i started my period july 15-19 the last day i took the pill was july 23. i skipped 24 & 25 and took all 3 the 26th. and it has been 3 days since. when can i find out if i am or not?

Hello Anonymous,

Yes, there is a very good chance that you became pregnant during this period of unprotected sex.

Hi, I had my menstration cycle last week, my pill cycle had restarted while I was still menstrating, it finished the thursday an I missed d pill on friday for 4 days due to a trip dat was taken and I forget my pack! Pharmacies didn't seem to carry my brand where I went. During this time I had unprotected sex once, I really wasn't sure if to take the 4 pills right away or wait, tomorrow will make it 5 days, today I noticed I've started spotting and got a lil worried! Would I get pregnant from this? And what should I do concerning the birth control??

Hi Anonymous,
Anytime you forget to take your pills and engage in sexual intercourse it increases your risk of pregnancy. To make up those pills, you may want to call your prescribing doctor and ask them. They likely will have you throw away your pack and start over. Or you could take two today, and two tomorrow, until you are back on track with one a day. It's important you don't put yourself at any more risk of pregnancy this month, and be extra diligent about not forgetting to take your pills on time.
The spotting likely is what's called breakthrough, or withdrawal bleeding.

Hi Anonymous,
If you were on your period when you had sex, it would be highly unlikely that you would become pregnant. Using the backup method was still a very smart idea. Anytime you miss pills, you should always use a backup method for at least 7 days.

From what you explained, I wouldn't be too concerned with pregnancy. I hope this helps. Good luck.

hi guys, im on lutera right now and i missed 1 pill on my first week ande took them the next day when i remembered it and took the other one on a regular time. i had sex 2 days before i missed a pill and i still had menstration that day when we had sex. after i missed a pill we been using an additional form of protection. my question is that will there be a chance that i would get pregnant?

Hi sandersonk,
I answered your other question. You should continue to take your pills as regular through to the end of your pack, then start a new one unless otherwise directed by your doctor. If you do end up being pregnant, it should not harm the fetus. The chances of you being pregnant are only a chance right now, so don't change anything. Make sure you call your doctor, and try to relax. Stress can wreak havoc on your health and your period going forward.
Good luck and take care.

yes i did the same thing ab 2 weeks ago. I went on a trip and forgot my pill pack. I had missed one pill the night before and then forgot my pack. when I got back on friday I took the two I missed then took the one at regular time. Im on Lutera though and I thought that was what my doctor said to do but when I looked it up I was supposed to double up and I didnt. I had unprotected sex bc I thought I was protected. I also found out that I had been ovulating the same day i had unprotected sex. so now im a little worried i may end up pregnant. Im only 19 and my boyfriend is turning 19. I don't know if im suppose to keep taking the birth control bc if i could be pregnant it would harm the baby.
