Whether or not exercising, or other activities, would be harmful to you prior to surgery really depends on your personal health history, and this is a question you should ask your own doctor. In most cases there aren't any restrictions, but for some types of cysts there is a risk of rupture and patients need to be more cautious.
Also, be aware that after the surgery patients are generally advised to restrict their activities, such as lifting heavy items or strenuous exercise, for two weeks after laparoscopic surgery and six weeks following an open surgery.

Thank you very very much!! I think it is a cystnomas and it is as big as a grapefruit. I am an athlete and not patient. Stopped weight lifting but am still walking. I am going to have major surgery so the thought of waiting before and after is hard. Thank you so much for the information! God bless!
