My back never had any moles, hair, acne or anything other than it being constantly tanned. When younger from the sun. Then starting in 1982 the tanning beds which I used until my melanoma was diagnosed and removed which was only a few years ago. I was not expecting I would ever get one but that was the day I ended my years and years of daily tanning bed use and began learned to accept my overall health rather than just being a great looking tanned corpse.

Hello, Anon!

Thank you for posting.

It is true that ultraviolet (UV) light from the sun is the main cause of most skin cancers. UV light damages the DNA (genetic material) in our skin cells which can cause skin cancer. Being exposed to too much sun, the use of tanning beds, or getting sunburnt as a child are important risk factors for developing skin cancer.

It's import to have moles checked each year, especially any new mole or a mole that has changed in appearance and/or size. Change in sensation, such as itchiness, tenderness, or pain.

Given your past melanoma, you should definitely have this mole(s) examined, Anon.

Keep us updated.
