Q:

I had my IUD removed on a Monday. I started my period on Tuesday and had unprotected sex the following Tuesday. Could I be pregnant?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

You could get pregnant but it's less likely than likely as most women don't ovulate 7 day after their period starts. If you don't get your period when expected, you can take a test.

Thank you. I just read that couple that are trying to conceive have a likelier chance conceiving if they have sex a few days before ovulation. That freaked me out a little.

There is truth to that.
Sperm lives in the body for up to 5 days so if a woman has sex 5 days before her ovulation date (or 4 or 3 or 2 etc) she can get pregnant. Once ovulation is done (actual ovulation is only 24 hours) she won't get pregnant until the next cycle.
Best,
Susan
