I forgot I had shingles shot in 2012 and just got another 9-1-2015 - should I be worried?

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

The Shingles vaccine is recommended for everyone age 50 or older who have not recently had chemotherapy, high doses of steroids or if you have a compromised immune system.

As far as more than one shot have adverse effects, there is no evidence that I have found. However, there is some research being done as to more than one shot providing extra proctection (see article link below).

According to current research, the shingles vaccine is effective for at least six years. It’s also possible that it protects for much longer than that.
