Ok this is going to be long....

So I am dating this guy and we have been together for like 5 years and a half. Sometimes I used to notice that his lip would become full of blisters but I never cared until a week ago. I told him that he needs to see a doctor. We went to the doctor. The doctor told him that he got herpes! Not sexually transmitted. The doctor said it’s very common but I have to be cautious of it because it is contagious.

I don’t know what to do. Some people are telling me to stay in relationship because he is a good guy and some are telling me to break-up. I am in a big difficulty and I don’t know how to face it because I really love him but at the same time I don’t want to get infected :(

Hello, LaLaDemiLavato.

Thank you for posting.

His doctor is correct, Herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV1) is the common cause of cold sores (oral herpes) around the mouth. HSV infection is passed from person to person by direct contact with an infected area. So using caution as the sores heal is advised. More information that will help below. Copy paste the link.
