I am still bleeding from a TURP procedure 2 weeks now is the pradaxa I’m taking inhibiting my recovery?

Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) is a surgery used to treat urinary problems due to an enlarged prostate.

Several days before surgery, your doctor likely recommended that you stop taking medications that increase your risk of bleeding, (such as Pradaxa) and other blood thinners which include both prescription and nonperscription medications. Wait to resume taking any blood-thinning medications until your doctor says it's OK.

Usually, the longer you were having problems before surgery, the longer it will take for your bladder and urethra to return to full normal function afterward. Bleeding, in the first weeks after TURP surgery, the scab inside the bladder may loosen. Blood may suddenly appear in your urine. So this might be why you are still bleeding. Check in with your doctor about the bleeding, to be sure you are healing as expected.
