I get between 7-8 hours of sleep every night, but i feel like my body is on auto pilot like i can control it only when i feel that i need to. it exausts me to walk up the stairs and i get shortness of breath i've been diagnosed with PTSD and i have panck attacks but i've been more light headed lately. does a diabetes attack feel the same as a panick attack? I have symptoms like extreem fatigue, weakness, lack of consentration, rapid heart beat, chest pains, headaches, frequent urination, unexplained weight loss, irritability, muscle pain, and my periods have went from 7 days to 3 days in the last year, cold all the time, and excessive thirst.

eitherway i have an appointment in a couple of weeks but i'd liek to know if anyone thinks it could be sirious, and i'm stressin about it now and i dont think thats helping. I donno what to do anymore i feel like it's a challenge to accomplish everyday things that used to be easy. I feel exausted all the time now and it acctually gives me a headache when i try to consentrate on things, like now.

I feel so much better now that I am using a multi-vitamin that works and has been researched as a world leader. Do your research on the brand it makes a big difference.

Hi,
In addition to the above great information and resources, I am wondering if you are feeling any symptoms of depression? Some of what you describe can be on the spectrum of either feeling excessive stress, sad or depressed. Do you feel that you are experiencing any of these?

Miss Kitty, I am not a doctor but have had experience with CFS and pre-diabetes. Your symptoms sound a lot like CFS, but unexplained weight loss and your other symptoms also fit with hypoglycemia, which can precede diabetes. This is manageable, so don't be scared about it, but I do urge you to keep your appointment. If your fasting blood sugars are normal, you might want to ask for a glucose tolerance test, which sometimes can pick up diabetes or prediabetes when fasting blood sugars appear normal. Hope you feel better soon. By the way, if you are able to work out, it doesn't sound like CFS, unless you are worse afterward. Not necessarily right afterward, but the next day or the day after you may crash. Anyway, make sure you get a lot of tests to rule out various things with these symptoms. Take Care.

Been there.

Kitty,

This sounds pretty familiar to me! I've had CFS for about three years now. The tough thing about CFS, though, is that it takes awhile to diagnose. There are other diseases that cause the symptoms you are describing, and it is important to rule them out first. If you want to learn more about CFS, CFIDS.org is a great place to start. Also, there are things that you can do on your own now that will help you to start to feel better. The most important is called pacing, and there's an article about it here: http://www.chronic-fatigue-community.com/chronic-fatigue-pacing.html.

I wish you the best!

Hi Kitty: When my daughter was 16,( she is now 38 and very very healthy) , she had a very bad gym injury, and alot of problems flared up. One of the nurses where I worked suggested she might have Chronic Epstein Barr Virus Syndrome. The best way to discover that is via a blood test called "the tieter test"or "teter" I am not sure of the spelling. Anyhow, the family doctor reluctantly agreed (they hate having to do it) and that is what she had. It lasted for about 3 yrs, but rest, good food, vitiamins, anti-oxidents, etc. There is no drug per-say for it. It takes its time to go, and even then, you have to watch yourself or it could come back, but the symptoms do eventually disappear. Everyone is different. One thing you cannot do it fight it. It fights back and you loose. It is a mix of Chronic Fatique and Fibromyalgia and you feel "dead" . If your doctor will not do it, insist on seeing a rheumatologist. You have to fight for your health these days. I am in Canada, so these tests are free, I do not know about the U>S>A> and their policies. All the best and let us know what the results are in a few weeks ok?
