My full leg and foot are about twice the size as my other leg after the surgery... Is this normal?

Swelling is a normal part of the healing process. It’s likely that you’ll experience some swelling for 2 to 3 weeks following surgery. You can reduce swelling by icing the area, doing your postoperative exercises and elevating your leg for a time each day (as advised by your doctor). According to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, swelling can last (in varying degrees) for 3 to 6 months after surgery. If you feel the swelling is excessive or are simply concerned, contact your doctor.
