I am a hairdresser. I have a weekly client who told me this week she has Shingles on her neck. How long do I have to wait before I can consider her noncontagious?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

Shingles is only contagious in the blister phase. Once the blisters have gone, a person is no longer contagious. The contagion lies in any liquid in the blisters. If they are dry/crusty, a person is no longer contagious.
Best,
Susan
