I have a bad habbit whereby I drain blood using a needle in the vein. My gp has been saying for months as hb has dropped from 10.4 to 4.5 that I will die. But when? I seem to be fine besides typical anemia symptoms. How low can it drop before I have to have blood transfusion "not keen on" I feel like a bit of a waster taking someones blood wen mine is being poured down the drain. Is there any other options than blood? If I ignore his advice how much longer will I live? He told me a week ago I wouldn't see new year and here I am??????!

No I suppose I'm the stereotype bpd in that I push everyone away so they can never hurt me. I should really go and see my gp again but I just can't face any of it right now. My only friend is the shiny new needles I've just been out and bought. My partner found the only one I had left just before new year. Suppose it kept me alive a bit longer. I don't think I'll ever die. I think I have so much evil and badness in me that no matter what I do it won't let me die. As if I'm a host it needs to survive itself maybe.

Hiya, thanks for replying. I'm still alive. My doc wanted me hospitalised months ago. Tried to convince be on my last bloodtest before new year to have a transfusion. I don't know what I want. I don't trust anyone. Not even family. I want to die alot of the time. I'm just so tired. Not just cos I'm anemic just tired of pushing through. My head is all over the place all day every day. I'm exhausted.

I'm sorry you are so exhausted and tired of pushing through life.

You sound like you have a good doctor, who is wanting to help you. Do you have a good counselor/psychologist? It is important to trust at least one person in your life, especially one who is trying to help you get better.

I just read your other post: https://www.empowher.com/community/ask/it-possible-suffer-psychosis-just-when-drunkunder-alot-stress

Why are you not seeing a Psychologist and a team of experts? You can get help, and you deserve to feel better. You are saying that you suffer from borderline personality disorder, psychosis-induced alcoholism, and now you are self-harming with a type of blood-letting?

Please call 911 if you feel the need to remove any more of your blood, and seek treatment immediately with a Psychologist. What doctor(s) have your primary doctor already recommended to you?

If your doctor is telling you that you may not live another week, please take this seriously. The phrase, "you may not live to see the new year" is not to be taken lightly, now that it is January 2nd and you are using this as "proof" of your doctor being wrong. Your doctor telling you that you may die very soon if you continue self-harm is to be taken very seriously, regardless if you "seem fine" physically.

Are you trying to commit suicide?
Do you have any friends or family you can talk to?
Are you currently seeing a Psychologist or other professional?
