Survival rates for this kind of cancer depends on what stage the cancer was in when treatment occurred. The lower the stage, the better the chances are. The 5 year survival rate for someone with Stage 1 small cell lung cancer is about 30%. For higher stages, the rate gets lower. However, many live much longer - these percentages are estimates.
