hi,

i am 26 yr old female. got married 3 years ago and till now i am not showing any interest in sex. Basically i am scared of the pain during insertion. I am interested only in foreplay and not beyond that. Hardly we would have had sex just once in a month. Also we are planning for a baby now. Can you please suggest me some tips on how to increase the interest in sex? We use KY jelly for lubrication. Also please suggest any lubricant which will also act as a pain killer.

Please advise.

Hi empower,

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time getting into sex because of the fear of pain. Do you actually feel an intense amount of pain during intercourse or is this just a fear?

If you do feel a lot of pain during sex, then you may want to see your gynecologist to see if you may have Vulvodynia, which is a chronic pain in the external genitalia of the woman.

As far as numbing cream for the pain, you can try Xylocaine Jelly but I would still see the doctor about this pain.

Please keep us posted and good luck trying to conceive!
