Q:

How do I induce my period who is 7 days late? ( 22 year old female)

Hello I'm a 22-year-old female who is not sexually active and does not take birth control pills and my period is currently 7 days late and I'm the 35th day of my cycle. Per calculations of my last 6 cycles, my period cycle is 28 days and has been regular up until this time.
In the month of June, I began taking 0.5 mg of clonazepam in which I divided into 2 at times for Anxiety when needed. I also began going to the gym twice a week.
I'm a bit worried and confused as my last blood work completed on June 10th showed that all including my thyroid was good. With that been said could I induce my period? If so how? Should I be concerned? I have solely experienced lower stomach cramps with nothing.
Thank you for the advice.

Guide

Hello, Anon. Thank you for posting.

Try to relax and wait for your period to come on its own. You mention beginning an exercise routine and starting a new medication for anxiety, so this might be what is causing the delay. Many things can impact a woman's cycle, (besides pregnancy) causing an early, late or missed a period. Stress, weight loss or weight gain, illness, medications, over-exercising, a change in lifestyle or routine as well as hormonal imbalance. Speak with your GYN if this becomes a pattern or you begin to miss periods.
