I have had familial tremor since I was 14. I am 60 now. The only medication that helps me is diazapam. Propananol has never worked but I take it anyway. Alcohol works also but leads to addition. I have never tried primadone. Taking diazapam before speaking or times when I know I will be stressed helps the most. I am curious about tremadon.

Thank you for your question, Anonymous.
A familial tremor is a genetic involuntary shaking of normally the hands, feet, eyelids, etc. and is usually associated with nerve issues to some muscle groups.

There are medications that help with tremors that are prescribed by your treating physician. Medicines may help relieve symptoms. According to the Textbook of Clinical Neurology, how well medicines work depend on the individual patient.
Two medications used to treat tremors include: Propranolol, a drug that blocks the action of stimulating substances called neurotransmitters, particularly those related to adrenaline Primidone, an antiseizure drug that also control the function of some neurotransmitters.
Have you been to a physician to treat the tremors? Have you tried other methods? Please provide us with more information so we may better understand your situation.
Sincerely,
Missie
