I am a married mother of two fantastic kids. 18 years ago, after a long term relationship ended, I was diagnosed with HSV-2. While I have had minor outbreaks over the years, one every year or two and spent many years not having any, it seems at 44 I'm having them consistently. Due to my hormones I have also had severe periods which were treated by 4 different birth control pills, that I believe contributed to continued outbreaks because My body didn't seem to ever regulate. While pregnant I never had outbreaks. I chose to cease all medication except for my daily suppression valtrex combined with Lysine and changed my diet to exclude foods high in arginine. The outbreaks continue. I have taken all the supplements recommended Olive Lead, Monolaurian. They persist. Any suggestions are welcome.

Hello, Anon.
Thank you for your post today. I'm sorry this is happening to you.
Unfortunately, it's not always clear as to why(or how) the virus decides when to reactivate. There are many things that can trigger outbreaks. Knowing these triggers can help some. Both physical and emotional stress can cause breakouts, as can hormonal fluctuations. I've provided a resource link with more information on other triggers you may or may not know about. You have already changed your diet. Hopefully, with time, the outbreaks will be less frequent as before.

I would suggest seeing your doctor to reassess your condition if you have not seen him or her recently about this.
Keep us updated.
