Hello, Anon! Thank you for posting.

Chemotherapy is typically recommended for patients with locally, advanced or metastatic cancer. We cannot know specifically what treatment(s) your oncologist will recommend for you. I can give you some general information.

Treatments that specifically target HER2 are known to be very effective.
Treatments include:
Ado-trastuzumab emtansine (Kadcyla)
Lapatinib (Tykerb)
Neratinib (Nerlynx)
Pertuzumab (Perjeta)
Trastuzumab (Herceptin)
In addition, there are several new medications being developed that also target HER2 and are being tested in clinical trials.

Discuss your treatment options with your doctor and be sure to ask a lot of questions so you know what to expect. Keep us updated.

best,

Helena
