Have you had experience with the Wiley Protocol?

Has anyone had experience using the Wiley Protocol of hormone replacement therapy?

It is a method where bioidentical hormones are prescribed and are given transdermally -- through the skin -- in a patent-pending cream. A primary

difference between this protocol and some others is that the hormonal levels rise and fall, similar to the way a woman's normal cycle did when she was still menstruating.

There is some controversy on the web about T.S. Wiley's qualifications for developing a medical protocol, since she is not a doctor herself, she studied anthropology (though she co-authored the book "Sex, Lies, and Menopause" with Julie Taguchi, M.D.)

Some women claim wonderful results; others claim very troubling side effects. Does anyone out there have personal experiences to share?

I understand where you're coming from now that I know who you are. And I can only guess as to whether Wiley has a financial motive or not. I can give you an opinion, and that is that her dominant motive is to help woman like me. To tell you the truth, I don't really CARE whether or not she has a financial motive. All I know is that before I discovered this method of bio-identical hormone delivery, my life was hell. Now that I am on the protocol my life is blissful.

So, Deb, how about answering my questions. What is your take in this?

Yes. I am passionate about this protocol because it's changed my life. It makes me angry when those like YOU attack something that is good in my life. Regardless of how much you try to discredit Wiley or me, you cannot take away this amazing transformation that has happened to me because I stumbled across this protocol.

I'm curious about you. What is your take in this. Are you even a woman? Are you having any hormonal problems? Do you believe it's better for a woman with problems to take manufactured hormones or bio-identical hormones? Do you believe it's better for a woman to take a static dosage or a rhythmic dosage?

You haven't answered a single one of my questions. The subject was whether T.S. Wiley has a personal, financial motive in promoting this protocol. She most certainly does, and it seems to me you are dismissive of this fact. So are we done discussing that issue?

If you'd prefer we change the subject and address the question of how the Wiley Protocol has changed, indeed transformed women's lives, we can do that. It's already been raised in this thread.

I fail to see how T.S. Wiley will profit from this protocol such as pharmaceutical companies profit from their patented drugs since natural bio identical hormones can't be patented. When I purchase my monthly hormones, I don't write a check to T.S. Wiley. And T.S. Wiley doesn't supply the compounding pharmacies. The protocol is a FORM OF DOSAGE, not a drug. That's my point, bigPharm can't profit from bioidentical hormones whether they are dosed statically or rhytmically. Thus, they try to fight it. If enough people are stupid enough to buy into their propaganda then breakthroughs such as the Wiley Protocol will have to go underground because there are enough of us who will still use it no matter what bigPharm manages to accomplish. Our lives have been too revolutionalized by it to allow it to completely go away.

To put it another way, you seem focused on diverting attention away from Wiley's selfish motives in this game. We all know that Big Pharma has motives. Trying to redirect attention toward this fact when it's another beneficiary that's in question -- that's what arouses my suspicions.

Do you fail to see how TS Wiley *will* *profit*? Your words seem carefully chosen.

TS Wiley doesn't need to make the same quantity of money as pharmaceutical companies in order to have a selfish motive in each woman's decision. She's just one person with a small group around her, whereas they are massive organizations. Where mere millions might entice her, it would take hundreds of millions to arouse the interest of Big Pharma. It's laughable when Wiley claims that Big Pharma fears her. She's a gnat on a gnat to them. They could care less about the scratch she's making from her contracts with pharmacists and doctors and her specially-branded syringes and packaging.

But it's evident that TS Wiley cares. Just Google and look how much money and effort she's put into marketing herself and this protocol. Count the number of press releases and the videos she's made on YouTube, look at the whole campaign she's engaged in.

Do you really think one has to write a personal check to TS Wiley in order to financially benefit her? Or that it's necessary that she supply the pharmacies? In fact she does supply them. With specially-branded syringes and packaging that they have to buy from her under the contracts that they've already signed up for. It's not hard to figure out what's going on here, and whenever somebody tries to muddy the waters with this kind of hand-waving, it's cause for suspicion.

Interesting that you apply the word "breakthrough" and "revolutionized" and you disparage those who don't choose Wiley as "stupid". It's clear what you're here to push, and I find it ironic when you talk of propaganda.

Oh, after re-reading this reply you made, where you mentioned videos on youtube, I went there and looked up T.S. Wiley. Thanks for that! I found a bunch of videos and am learning even more about this protocol that I am so thankful for!

It's possible T.S. Wiley is flooding YouTube with videos with the hope that women won't see these:

Interesting that in just the last couple of days this thread has gone from 40 comments to 54, a surge of 35%, generally positive towards the Wiley Protocol.

None of the comments pointing out big pharma's financial motives make any mention that T.S. Wiley wants the same -- to take your money in exchange for some purported solution.

I believe that finding personal health solutions, not to mention social justice as well, requires that you look very closely at those who point to big bad monsters yet conspicuously fail to mention that your decision is going to affect their pocket book too.

I'm currently on the Wiley Protocol and have been for a few months. It has given me back my life. I am no longer getting sick easily, or feeling often depressed, or sleepy or anxious or irritable or forgetful. My libido is back (and the accompanying lubrication). No more hot flashes or headaches or hair loss. My skin looks great. My mood is even. I am sleeping through the night (this alone is reason enough to stay on this hormone protocol for the rest of my life). I'm also pleased that it is all natural and that my doctor is working with me on it. She also has me on all natural supplements that help support my adrenals and thyroid. I have recommended this protocol to my daughter, who has exhibited signs of hormonal imbalance. In fact, I would more readily recommend this protocol of bhrt before I would EVER recommend anything manufactured by the big pharmaceutical companies.
