Q:

Has anyone else experienced a loss of libido and inability to orgasm following their partners vasectomy?

I'm really struggling with my husband having had a vasectomy. I have two beautiful kids. I recently had a miscarriage at 20 weeks and I'm devastated. She was an unplanned pregnancy nevertheless I wanted her very much but did worry about practicalities such as money. My husband had the snip the day after we found out we were pregnant. I was ok with this at the time as I had the baby to look forward to and I guess she helped me deal with the fact that he wanted and went through with the snip.

It's been several months and I'm really struggling to orgasm. I'm so pent up I know I need that release but every time I get close it just disappears. I just don't know what to do. Any advice or reassuring stories out there?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing. We're very sorry to know of your loss.

I wonder if your issue is not with a vasectomy, but with your grief at losing your child? Grief that has not been fully attended to? Depression after a miscarriage - especially a very late one like yours - is common. Have you sought any counseling? Have you talked to your husband about how you feel?
We look forward to hearing back from you-
Best,
Susan
