Frankincense (oil) comes from the resin of Boswellia serrata trees. Some aromatherapy oils, perfumes and certain types of incense contain this oil. Though rare, some people might experience irritation and/or an allergic reaction to frankincense oil. This might be the case for you. A doctor, preferably a dermatologist can tell you more. Signs may include a rash, hives, itchy or swollen skin.
