Hello,
I an 23 yrs old and attend the gym 4 to 5 times a week, 60 to 90 mins per day.
I do a mix of cardio and weight lifting. However, by chance yesterday I was told by some trainer at the gym that doing exercise when i have my period would have later bad consequences on my health maybe in my late 30's. Normally i do my usual workout routine during my period so do you advice me to stop exercising in my period days, and if yes for how many days should i stop? OR is there specific exercise moves that i should stay away from. Please some one advice me. Thanks

Hi Beesa,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  Some women do benefit from aerobics or light exercising during their menstrual cycle. This helps them relieve the pain or cramping during their period. You should discuss with your doctor what your trainer told you and he will let you know what would be best for you. Hope this was helpful?

Best,

Daisy
