Hello, Anon! Thank you for posting.

Early stage breast cancer usually means stage 1 and stage 2. Generally, in these stages, cancers haven’t spread beyond the breast or nearby lymph nodes. Treatment usually starts with surgery and may be followed by hormone therapy or radiation.

For some women with early-stage breast cancer, treatment will also include chemotherapy. Every case is different and your doctor should be able to clearly explain to you his or her reasons for recommending chemotherapy. If you still feel unsure about whatever course of treatment is being recommended, getting a second opinion can be helpful.

Best,

Helena
