Diabetic with stabbing pain in my knee

It mainly hurts when I'm getting up from a sitting position. Hurts so bad, feels like someone hit my knee with a hammer. I've been diagnosed with diabetes. Not bad enough for insulin but am on pills. I've been without my pills about 3 months. Can this cause my knee pain?

Hello Anon
Thank you for writing.
Are you on or off pills? It's hard to know by your post. What are these pills?
Diabetes can cause pain in the joints but your kind of stabbing pain may be independent of your diabetes. You need to see your doctor about this pain to get a diagnosis and treatment plan.
Best,
Susan
