Hello. Thank you for your question.
Systemic candidiasis includes a spectrum of yeast infections caused by different types of Candida. It is a serious infection that can affect the blood, heart, brain, eyes, bones, or other parts of the body. Is this what you are referring to? Five different species of Candida cause 90% of systemic candidiasis. The most common form of this invasive yeast infection is when Candida enters the bloodstream.
Systemic candidiasis is usually treated with oral or intravenous (IV) antifungal medications. The type of medication and length of treatment will depend on many factors, including the age and health of the infected person, the location and severity of the infection, and the specific species of Candida causing the infection. The doctor treating the patient can tell you more.
