I had posted here a few weeks back about having switched to a new birth control (Femiane) after mine (Gynera) had been discontinued.
Basically last month I started this new brand of birth control. I normally take it on time, however I goofed up and took two pills in one day, so my pack ended up being a day short. My boyfriend and I had had sex on day 9 of the pack (with condoms) but I felt it safe and best to continue straight into a new pack of pills, with no period break.
My question is - because of the fact that I went straight into the second pack, am I still protected against pregnancy? I’m nervous because it’s a new brand. It’s supposed to be very similar to my old brand, and I’m very disciplined about taking my pills (normally on time, sometimes an hour or two late but never 12!) but the fact that I messed up the first pack has me anxious.
Also, now that I’m on this new brand, does it matter what number day in the pack I have sex? For the first pack, we held off until I was on the ninth day, and we still used condoms. I also try not to have sex too close to the end of the pack either.
Sorry for asking this so many times, but I get so anxious about the possibility of pregnancy, even though I know what we’re doing should be safe.

Hello again
The birth control pill protects you every day from pregnancy, there are no unsafe days. A condom is not required either but some like to use them as precautions so that's fine.
April 19, 2018 - 4:27amThere is no risk of pregnancy at all in your case, despite switching brands and not waiting a week between packs.
