Q:

Could I have anxiety?

Lately within the past 4-6 months all I do is overthink scenarios of what could go wrong. That has led to me getting super stressed out and anxious over the smallest things that don’t even matter. It interferes with my day because I’m always thinking about whatever is stressing me out. I’m normally super happy but it has made me feel bad about myself and have less motivation to do what I love. I want to tell my parents or see about getting a therapist but I’m too afraid to ask. What should I do?

Hi Anonymous and welcome to EmpowHER. It sounds like you're quite worried and anxiety is interfering with your everyday life and activities. This can be quite uncomfortable and it's understandable that you may find it hard to discuss your concerns with your parents. Are you able to see your primary care physician or other healthcare provider? It may help to get a wellness check up and talk about your concerns with a health professional who can help you decide if therapy would be helpful. Good luck to you, Pat
