I had unprotected sex January 8th (he didn't quite pull out on time) then my period came January 13th which was really heavy and only lasted 2 days and usually it will last 5-6 days... I took a HPT January 13th right before my period came and it said negative. Could I still be pregnant?

Guide

Hello badGirl,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community and thank you for coming to us with your concern.

You would not be pregnant because you had heavy vaginal bleeding that lasted two days. Why your period was shorter is a question that should be discussed with your doctor.

If you do not want to become pregnant now, please use some type of birth control, such as condoms. If you practice safe sex for the rest of the month, and you still do not have a period or a normal period, please contact your gynecologist. Blood tests may be ordered.

Regards,
Maryann
