Could i be pregnant?

So i had my IUD removed on june 6th 2013. Since having it removed i have experienced pregnancy symptoms and irregular periods. Seeing as my period has always been 28 days apart and i still got it even while on the mirena for 3 yrs (very faint) but still there, i figured the irregularity was a result of my body trying to adjust to having had the iud removed. Either that or i chalk it up to stress and wishful thinking. We have a son who will be 4 on the 10th of october but we really want to have another baby and have been trying. So this month i got my period on sep. 5th and it lasted for 3 days but was very light almost non-existent going into day 3. We had sex and then i spotted on and off for another day or two. Since then ive been super sleepy, migraines all day everyday, my appetite was basically non-existent for a few days and then returned to normal but i was craving nothing but sushi. my lower back is aching, breast are sore/tender and my areola's are looking darker and seem to be protruding. I've had periodic cramping in my lower abdomen the past few weeks as if my period is coming but its not due til sep.30th. HPT are negative however i do know that i have a lower pregnancy hormone level than most and in the past my pregnancies werent detected until i was nearing the end of my first trimester or well into the second. I just thought the more pregnancies you have the sooner they can be detected. I guess my question is could i be pregnant or is all this still just a result of having had my iud removed or stress? Im trying not to stress or even think about T2C but wishing and waiting isnt helping. If i have a blood and urine sample taken by my doctor and they still come out negative as ive said has happened in the past is there anyway they could or would do an ultrasound this early? according to calculations i would only be 3 1/7 wks along.

Hi bwhite86,

First, let me wish you a good luck on getting pregnant. Since you have just removed the IUD recently, I would assume that this may be the culprit also. Your body is definitely trying to get back to normal. However, if you have taken pregnancy tests before and it is normal for you to have false positives, you should make an appointment with your doctor to have blood testing done. Blood tests will not provide that false positive. I hope this helps and many great wishes to you and your family.

hey Missie,
thanks for ur thoughts. I was afraid it was probably all going to be a result of the iud removal. I'm suppose to get my period to.morrow so we'll see what happens. going to the doctor sounds like the most obvious thing to do but I can't go. I do not have health insurance at the moment so I have to pay for all my visits out of pocket. unless it an emergency or I get a positive test I won't be going to my family doctor anytime soon.
