My boyfriend has chronic pancreatitis and he's a diabetic. I believe he is not telling me the truth about how serious his sicknesses is. I am very fearful that he is close to death but won't tell me. He vomits pretty much on a daily basis from what I can hear. He has lost so much weight. He's 6ft tall and only about 130 lbs now. I see his skeleton. He used to weigh 180 lbs which is more accurate for his height. I don't understand cuz he eats a lot but cannot gain weight no matter what. I am wondering how long his body can continue like this before all of his organs shut down. I am really scared to death because my cat had pancreatitis and did exactly the same thing kept losing weight till it was emaciated and finally it's little body shut down. I know that's an animal but I'm just afraid that's what's happening to his body to. I think he is either in denial himself or he is not telling me the whole truth but I really need to know what to expect cuz he is the provider of our household and I'm disabled so I need to be prepared but I can't talk to him about it. :(

Hello. Thank you for posting.
You need to talk to him about the severity of his condition. Only his doctor is privy to the details of his illness. We cannot know. I can give you some basic information. Think about addressing this issues with him.
Chronic pancreatitis is inflammation of the pancreas that does not heal or improve—it gets worse over time and leads to permanent damage. Chronic pancreatitis eventually impairs a patient's ability to digest food and make pancreatic hormones. More information below:
