Hello!
What can be done about back pain due to driving a lot on a daily basis for work? Is there some kind of support brace for drivers or some kind of lumbar support that can be worn to stop the back pain?
Thanks!

While you should definitely talk to your doctor, chiropractor or osteopath about this, there are over-the-counter lumbar support pillows available that you could use in your driver's seat or office chair. My chiropractor carries therapeutic pillows.
I've had chronic back issues since an injury during college (no, I didn't play football, haha!), plus I have various forms of arthritis and mild scoliosis. I'm fortunate enough to have adjustable driver's seats in both vehicles. They both allow me to find just the right support for my back.
I hope you find a way to get some relief.

I just googled "back pain while driving" and at least 3 companies appeared that are selling seat supports and other technology that claim to ease back pain while driving. (Don't worry...I don't usually use Google to conduct health research, but I was curious about seat support products). However, I did not want to recommend or even suggest any of these companies, as I could only locate the seller's information and no health-related institution or credible health source was mentioned.
If you would like to "google" this phrase yourself, and see what you think (while being a cautious consumer of information on these sites that are selling products!), they might provide you with some new information, or more informed questions, while you wait for the experts from the NIND (from Tina's post, above) to respond to your question.
Hope this helps some!

Hi there, We've forwarded your question to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders to find out what you can do about your back while driving and whether a brace is the best way to go. Check back for an answer in the next day or so. Thanks.
