Hi Anonymous,
Have you ever been tested for possible sensory damage?

interesting you ask about sensory damage- because I have the pain in my vulva area within the vestibule after horrible butchering by doctor- took off all my labia minor/majora and clitoral tissue- when I was told a 30 min procedure for sweating. I was tested with a QST test and found damage to nerve sensory- and pudendal issues. will this ointment help with my burning sensation. Now that it is summer _surgery last dec._ when I'm in the heaat- it feels like acid...

I have a burning sensation on the inside of my vagina lips. It is very painful and uncomfortable. it started last winter and lasted several months. It lasted for several months. I felt hundred percent positive over the summer but it seemed to have come back. All my tests came back negative and the doctors don't seem to know what I have. They prescribed different creams, including Clobetasol, but nothing seems to work. I cry something when it is really bad out of pain but also discouragement, I just wish somebody could figure out what I have. I have a boyfriend (which I been with for the past three years) and intercourse is painful when my symptoms are present. It also worries me, as I am a 28 year old female, I wonder if this is going to go on my whole life. It seems to get worse when I sit for long periods of time. I only wear cotton underwear and loose clothing, and I don't use any lotions or anything. I just wanted to post this and get all these heavy feelings off my heart.

You're symptoms sound a lot like vulvodynia. I have had similar symptoms for the last year, off and on and after seeing 3 different Ob/Gyn's I finally got an answer. You will need to find a doctor who is experienced in diseases of the vagina. There is help out there for this! Good luck!

Try taking a couple Vitamin E capsules, poke a whole in each capsule and apply the vitamin E in vagina. It will soothe and heal. I have used it in the past and this has helped me a lot. Vitamin E will not hurt you and it is inexpensive.

I was diagnosed with LS (lichen sclerosis) and was given this cream clobestol. It worked great! No more itching, and the thin white skin is almost completely back to normal.

I was prescribed this after my hyster. Unfortunately I tried *everything* else for the itch but going to my doctor who I had trusted for bladder repair, hyster and other problems. I guess I was so embarassed I don't know. Itching was relatively simple compared to what my Specialist had been thru with me! But I can tell you like many of you have said, I was MISERABLE! I could not sleep, could not walk, was irritable, cried, could not walk without pain, pain meds didn't help, ice paks, creams, powder, even my presc. meds from my surgery. Nothing! Finally I went in and got checked. 5 minutes later he says, "I know what this is" (I forget now but I am seeing if this will help my husband) and prescibes Clobetasol. The differences? I haven't had an episode in 2 years. I don't know what changed but for almost 2 months I suffered and that was too long. GIve it time ladies. If it is burning and itching and you have not been prescribed this for your vulva area, ask for it. I won't throw mine away.

I have been getting cuts, like split open skin, sort of like a paper cut in that area. It's not really itchy, but more painful. I am 30 and my GYN did a biopsy and said I have lichen simplex, and some dermatitis and psoriasis. She sent me to a dermatologist who prescribed me Clobetasol. I have been using it for 3 days, so I am not certain about the results yet, but it has been very positive to read these posts about people's positive results! I'm hoping for the best. I also feel SO much better knowing that other people my age are having these same problems.......although I still wish someone could tell me WHY it's happening.

Hi Anonymous

Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease, so no one yet knows the cause, and I'm afraid lichen simplex is similar in that it is not always known what the cause is. I found a good link related to lichen simplex: http://www.uihealthcare.com/depts/med/obgyn/patedu/vulvarvaginaldisease/lichensimplex.html and of course we have information: https://www.empowher.com/media/video/itching-vulva-what-can-cause-dr-kellogg-spadt-video.

We also have psoriasis info: https://www.empowher.com/condition/psoriasis

Good luck to you.
