Read an article this morning in the New York Post saying lifting weights is the best way for ladies of all ages to stay fit - and lean! Thought it was the opposite?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

Woman who weight-lift and really bulk up may be doing certain exercises to cause this to happen and may be taking steroids.
But regular weight-lifting can offer lean muscles, as long as it's done with a healthy diet that may need calorie restriction.
Weight lifting is also good for keeping bones strong and helps to burn calories both during and after a session.
Working with a personal trainer can help.
