So, I had sex right after my period ended (oct 30) and it was unprotected. I got a little paranoid (even though I think he did not came inside me) and took the next choice pill the next day.. followed all the instructions. but now, six days later i am bleeding seems like a menstruation. What is this? is this going to be menstruation for the month of November? My next due date is 21/22. Am I going to get my period by then? I am kind of freaking out. help please.

Hi Worry Girl,

Remember that a change in your period is a side effect of Next Choice. Wait for your period, if it is late by more than 1 week, please take a pregnancy test.

Good Luck,

Rosa

Side effects are sometimes experienced when taking the medication but it doesn't mean that everyone experiences them. Waiting for your period is not a side effect of Next Choice-- a change in your menstrual cycle is and this is the side effect that you are experiencing. A person can have one, all or none of the side effects of the medication, this doesn't make the emergency contraceptive more or less effective.

You can test for pregnancy after Dec 16.

HI, I had my period last week but had sex right after my period had ended. i took next choice but only took the first dose. today i started bleeding but its not like my regular monthly cycle, it comes out brown. is that normal?

Hi Anonymous,

Brown blood is old blood, so this could just be old blood coming down. Even if you didn't take the second dose you're still subjected to the side effects of Next Choice which include nausea, change in period, fatigue, and abdominal pain.

Hope this helps,

Rosa

Hi Ladies!
so i have a question my boyfriend cummed in me 5 days after my period finished. It was Nov.9 .I forgot that we had to buy plan Band i realized it 3 days later. I looked Online and Nov.9 was my High Fertitliy date and the next day my ovulation would start. So i decided to but next choice immediately realizing i could be pregnant. I took it on Sunday Nov.13.Just to make sure i wouldnt be pregnant. I knew the chances were already a bit high since i started ovulating.I bought it and i got my period 6 days later. Could i be pregnant even if i bought next choice? and how long will my period last? im looking online and girls have said 12 days ! PLEASE HELPPP! thanks! p.s it was my first time taking it.

Hi Anonymous,

Plan B can sometimes cause changes in your menstrual cycle, which is probably why you had a period or bleeding 6 days later. Emergency Contraceptives are effective but the longer you wait to take them, the less effective they become. If you miss your period on the date that it is actually due by more than 1 week, please take a pregnancy test.

Good Luck,

Rosa

help! my boyfriend and i had sex on nov 4, and the condom broke. my last period ended on oct. 26. 10-20 min after we found out that the condom broke, we took the next choice plan b pill. around nov 10, i started bleeding reddish-brownish blood a little. it is now a week later (the 17), and i am still bleeding, but it is very light now, like it is about to go away. i am so scared! i really hope its not implantation bleeding, and i cannot be pregnant right now. can somebody PLEASE help me

This might be a little unrelated but, if I take a pregnancy test the next day I have sex, will it still be accurate?
