I haven't had a period since October 2016. I'm 50 years old. My pelvic area has been hurting for a few weeks now. And yesterday I started bleeding. Is this anything to be concerned about?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

Any bleeding after menopause, especially with pain, needs to be reported straight away to a doctor. The cause could be some kind of reproductive disorders, including fibroids or cysts.

Best,
Susan
