Hello, so I was feeling a bit fatigued like I was running out of gas like 3 weeks ago but when that feeling passed I found a growth on my Vulva and my Dr. said it’s HPV wart, one. She put me on Aldara (imiquimod) to clear the wart. From the moment I found the wart to when I saw my doctor 4 days the wart had reduced in size. I thought I was a skin growth that was about to shrivel up and die.
After one use of Aldara (imiquimod) I noticed some very light blood when I went to the bathroom the next morning it stopped. Later in the evening it started again more than the AM. I called the dr and she said it’s a normal body reaction to the medication and not to worry. Im am an allergy sufferer have had vaginal related allergies in the past. Can this medication cause spotting, bleeding? I don’t know if to use it again. No test was done to determine what HPV I have. Thanks Lisa

Hello, Lisa22. Thank you for your message.

If you doctor said this is a not an unusual reaction, I would not worry about it, unless it becomes severe in some way. Below is a link to information and side effects of Aldera.
