Is it possible for someone to be ovulating, while having their period at the same time? I know that usually ovulation happens a week or two before someone have their menstruation but is it possible to have both at the same time?

Hello, Anon!
Thank you for writing today!
Menstruation (or period) is the bleeding that occurs when the endometrium is shed approximately 12 to 16 days after ovulation.
According to the American Pregnancy Association, some women experience mid-cycle or ovulatory bleeding and may mistake this for a period. This can be seen more in women who have very irregular cycles, although it can occur in women with regular cycles as well. They may experience what appears to be a period, but in reality, this is most likely ovulatory bleeding.
