Is 55-60 a good number for a resting heart rate?

I work out 5x week or more, usually doing between 30-45 minutes of cardio and weight training and generally very active also playing on a city league sports team. My resting heart rate is anywhere between 55-60 is that a good number? It seems low to me.

Hello saradietz,

For adults, a normal resting heart rate is between 60 to 100 beats per minute. Generally, a lower heart rate at rest indicates more efficient heart function and better cardiovascular fitness.
