thats my biggest fear that it might have some serious affects in me being unfertile in the future. (ive tried taking the month to month pill but i stopped after the month because i realized it wa smaking me gain weight and take an affect on my body weight) so is the pill something i should consider to regulate my menstrual cycle? thanks for you answers and help.

Hi Bashful,
Thank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER. Has the doctor investigated or told you why you don't have regular cycles? Have you been diagnosed with secondary amenorrhea (lack of periods when you have had them in the past)? Here is information about secondary amenorrhea:
Secondary Amenorrhea Treatments
According to the Rice University Women's Resource Center, you can still get pregnant when you don't have periods. Here's what I found:
"According to one of the sources we found, it is still possible to become pregnant with only one active ovary as long as the fallopian tube is still intact. BUT you should truly have this discussion with your OB/GYN and discuss with that medical expert what your options might be."
Did your doctor put you on birth control pills to regulate your cycle? Birth control can cause you to gain a little weight. It comes with the territory. Did you tell your doctor you were going to stop taking it? There may be other options for you, so it may be worth calling your doctor.
As stated, this really is a question to ask your doctor who prescribed the birth control pills. Hope this information helps. If not, please let us know what additional information you are looking for.
Good luck and let us know how you're doing.

HI , thank you for you reply
about the birth control pills, could not having them prescribed by a doctor be an issue, or a probable cause to why im not havin my month to month cycle? because i had a friend hand them over to me, she told me she had them prescribe to her and she wasnt using them anymore, so i took them, it did cross my mind that i should just go to the doctor but she already had them right there in her hands, so i saw it soo easy i was like sure... and after the first month using them i stopped due to my weight gaining. i am solving my appointment with my gynecologist this week. , you were of great help thank you :)

Hi Bashful,
Yes, it's never a good idea to take someone else's prescription, especially if you have a condition--you doctor should be the one working with you on finding a good solution to treatment and helping you find a way to get pregnant. Let us know what your doctor says about options.
Good luck!
