You had your very first period in August 2010, and then your second-ever period January 2011. When young women first begin their periods, their periods are erratic and irregular. First-ever periods do not occur every month, and are more than likely to skip a few months. It is unlikely that you have a diagnosable medical condition such as PCOS or amenorrhea, and is more likely that you have irregular periods since you are just starting out.
However, since you are worried, it is a good question to ask your Pediatrician. When is your next annual appointment?August 14, 2011 - 12:49pm
I agree, you are on the cusp of having your menarche, or first period.
Things that help manage the pain, hot water bottles, and squatting. I have found that this works really well, as well as doing a yoga pose called 'child pose'.
Congratulations, and take care.August 6, 2010 - 8:33am
Bloodlust, it's difficult to know for sure, but I'd say that it means your period is starting or is about to start. Those cramps are common during menstruation -- usually during the first couple of days. They are caused by your uterus contracting to shed the tissue that has built up over the month (and that's what causes you to bleed). Ibuprofen may help with those cramps. They're no fun, I know.June 29, 2010 - 9:29am
Thank you very much Mrs. Porter it really mean alot to me about what u saidJuly 1, 2010 - 8:13pm
It is not weird at all; everyone has their own cycle. The normal range for most girls to start their periods is between ages of 12 to 15. Some can start early, some can start a little later. Do you have a family doctor or pediatrician that you see on a regular basis, and does this doctor know that you have not started your period? As long as you are being monitored, it can be fine. If you are 16 and have not had a period yet, you may want to ask your doctor.
Here are a few questions to consider (they are personal, so feel free not to answer, but it would help if you feel comfortable), as there are some clues that menstruation will start soon. According to Women's Health:June 27, 2010 - 7:44pm
- a girl gets her period about 2 years after her breasts start to develop. Has it been longer or shorter than 2 years since your breasts have started developing?
- have you had any vaginal discharge fluid, that you may see or feel i your underwear? "This discharge usually begins about 6 months to a year before a girl gets her first period."
it been about four 1/2 years since my breast devlope and i have been having vaginal discharge fluid for a while but i forgot how long so ... and i had a blood come out last month but it was a few spots and i ve been having really bad cramps in my lower stmach area what does that mean ????June 27, 2010 - 8:51pm
