I'm sorry but telling a diabetic to go to the bathroom to use their pump or take a shot is offensive. Not only does it bring more attention to being diabetic but bathrooms are full of germs and other nasties that I don't want injected into my body with my shot. When I was younger there were actually a few kids who got infections from doing injections in bathrooms.
I've never in my 25 years of being diabetic ever had someone comment on me taking a shot at the table, I normally did it under the table and people didn't even notice. As for my pump again, no one has ever commented on it.
Perhaps we should be empowering diabetics rather than giving them advice on how to not offend people who are more than likely not even noticing or offended.
