Ways to relieve foot pain at home include:
Wear a cutout heel pad (for heel pain).
Use a custom-made insert (called an orthotic) worn in the shoe.
Wear shoes that fit well and have shock-absorbing soles.
Take over-the-counter pain relievers for pain and inflammation, like Advil, Aleve, or Motrin (if you can take them).
Rest your feet when you can.
Soaking your feet in warm water can be soothing.
Massage your feet.
