HPV infections are some of the most common STI's. Most cases resolve themselves. In your case, you have HPV16 which is considered high risk so I understand your concerns.

However, a hysterectomy is a rather radical option. Doctors, particularly male doctors, throw out that option without really thinking about the side effects although I realize menopause is over for you. However, as you say, there are still risks. If your current doctor does not see urgency in your case, perhaps wait the 6 months to retest and then make your decision. However, if you want to proceed differently, by all means do so - it's your body, do what you feel is best for you.
