A blood pressure reading has a top number (systolic) and a bottom number (diastolic). Normal blood pressure is 120 over 80 or under.
Example: higher-than-normal blood pressure or pre-hypertension, is generally defined as having a systolic reading of 120 to 139 and a diastolic reading of 80 to 89. Higher would then be considered high blood pressure or hypertension.
