The uterine lining has various levels of thickness, depending on age, the time of the month, and pregnancy. The uterine lining, as it shows up on a scan, is called a "stripe".

After menopause, the lining measures anywhere from 8mm to 11mm. So your scan would show this thickness is normal.

As to your spotting- we cannot say why this happened. If you just reached a year of being period-free, then the spotting could mean menopause is not quite over. Ask your doctor what this may mean for you.
