Estrogen levels take a temporary dip around ovulation and this can sometimes cause bleeding. Our cycles evolve over time - there is always a first time for everything. Since you haven't had sex since your last period, as you said, pregnancy should not be a concern.
If this bleeding turns into a pattern, talk to your gynecologist about why this may be happening. A hormonal imbalance may be the cause.
