We can't say exactly why this is happening but it could be due to a vitamin deficiency, especially potassium, magnesium or calcium or it could be due to tight shoes or overuse of the foot. Taking a supplement for the above vitamins can help - I take them and my cramping stopped.
Since this is all very recent, wait a few days. If the spasms continue, talk to your doctor.
