The doctors who treated you should have explained why this happened as we can only guess.
The sex may have been far too rough for you, as a virgin (I assume you were at the time of marriage) and this caused vaginal tearing.
You may also have had little lubricant in your vaginal area that caused you to be dry and not ready for penetration.
You need to use plenty of lubricant and engage in foreplay before intercourse and sex should be gentle to start, until you are ready to engage more.
