You can't get actual cold sores on your eyelids but cold sores are part of the herpes family and you can get a herpes infection in the eye. It's called herpes simplex keratitis.
You may have a stye, instead, on your eyelid, upper or lower. These can be very painful and can look very much like small cold sores.
